About: dr.AAli

dr. AAli (Ali R. Chaudhary, Ph.D.) is a guitarist and social scientist based in the New York City/NJ metropolitan area. Originally from Los Angeles, he studied jazz (on the job) while earning his doctorate in sociology. Before relocating to the East Coast, dr.AAli performed throughout Northern California with a number of brilliant Nor-Cal jazz musicians.

He relocated to NJ in 2017 in conjunction with his post as an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Rutgers University in New Brunswick-New Jersey.

dr. AAli performs regularly at neighborhood pubs, wine bars, micro-breweries, farmer's markets, and jazz jams. In addition, he performs weekly in North-Central NJ

dr. AAli is also currently conducting a new social scientific study on the short-term consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on working musicians residing in Greater New York City.
